our goal at pocket films.™ (art.) & hieronymus.™ (apparel.) is to create a safe and powerful space, where our loyal fans can feel inspired to pursue their most authentic selves. this can be a scary process for many, as it requires vulnerability. we get it, so we’ll start first. that’s the dna you will see here at pocket films.™ & hieronymus.™, manifested in both the literature we write, and the pieces we create. 

we will be authentically us, and we hope that gives you the permission to be authentically you! this leads us to the purpose for us to exist. 

we believe that through this pursuit of authenticity and community, our fans will find a deep level of passion for life, and realize that they are more powerful than they could have possibly imagined. we hope that knowledge will give them the strength to pursue their most audacious goals in life with courage, empathy, and yes…passion!

being a Person-Of-Color founded project, the goal at pocket films.™ & hieronymus.™ is to inspire, empower, and fuel ALL people; especially people of color.  within subcultures we love, we have A LOT of work to do, for ALL people to feel comfortable and empowered in these spaces.   

we believe relentlessly pursuing goals focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, will add immense value, both for those members whose lives will be positively impacted by these experiences, and for the subcultures themselves.

creative direction & creation process.

the pocket films.™ (art.) & hieronymus.™ (apparel.) creation process begins with writing an original piece of literature, which will then inspire the design for each piece or product line.

pocket films.™ (art.)

the literature drives the creation process, as the color, technique, and energy of the piece will be inspired by the energy found in the literature. the canvas for each piece is created using upcycled VHS tapes, and you will see that quintessential spool aesthetic on the front of each piece. the names of the films remain visible from the back of the canvas, as those films are intentionally curated, so the theme of each film will correspond with the theme of the literature.

hieronymus.™ (apparel.)

the literature also drives this creation process, and will be published/printed on each apparel piece, with the goal of inviting the wearer to bring their story to the conversation.

the apparel pieces themselves are aimed at being crisply and consistently branded with the full line, while simultaneously being one-of-a-kind.  this is most often accomplished by integrating different sub-assemblies into each piece, which are upcycled fabrics and materials from other end-of-life products (mostly these are vintage pearl snap shirts-hence the pearl snap pocket logo).

you’ll know when you’ve found the right one, as it will feel like you; feel like home.  that was our goal from day one, and will continue to be our primary focus.

pocket films.™ & hieronymus.™ is created in Portland, OR; in the heart of Chinatown/Old Town. we hope to earn heirloom spots on the walls and in the closets of any/all soulful people interested in living this life with authenticity, intention, and love!
